Alpine Scythe Fitting Instructions

1. Loosen the grub screws on the handle attachment ring with a screwdriver across the square holes.

2. This will enable the grub screw key (right) to be withdrawn from the rear of the ring.

3. Further loosen the grub screws with the key. Then insert the stub end of the blade,
with the ring hard up under the blade (as shown on extreme right).

4. Tighten well.

5. As it is important that the blade is kept
rigid on the handle. Retain the grub screw
key for subsequent use.

1. Hold scythe firmly where blade joins handle. Point away from body.

2. Divide blade into three parts and work on each in turn.

3. Give blade strokes with Turk Stone, alternately above and below.

4. Finish with light strokes above and below along the whole length.
