Q. Why am I returned to this website half way through the transaction to select postage when I'm paying by Paypal Express Checkout?
A. There are many reasons for this...
- You may have gift certificates to use.
- You may have items in your shopping basket from a previous visit. These will be automatically be added to your present order and you can choose to delete or keep the items.
- Only the value of the goods in your basket is known. It does not know that you may have a Northern Ireland post code or you may live in the Scottish Highlands. Once logged-on, your address is used to determine the correct list of shipping options according to your location. This allows you to have free choice of how you would like to have your order delivered. Once a choice is selected, you are then returned to Paypal to complete the transaction.
All the above reasons are due to the button's use before Paypal knows anything about you. This can be avoided if you create or login to an account with us and then use the Paypal button located on our payment page.
Q. When I use Paypal express, the amount shown to be taken from my bank account does not include postage; Why?
Our website uses different delivery tariffs depending on your location. If you have not created an account with us or you have not yet logged-in, our site doesn't know who you are or where you live.
This is the same for Paypal. After you press the express checkout link to pay by Paypal, you will see your order details but until you acuallly log-in to PayPal, it won't know anything about your order apart from what is in your basket.
Once logged-in to PayPal, it will have all the details required to return you to our website to choose the correct postage. The postage amount will be added to your invoice at the end of the transaction.
This does not mean there is a fault with our web site or with PayPal. We could be remedy this by having just one choice and price of delivery for the whole of the UK but this would prevent us from offering any delivery offers.
