Cookie Policy

What are Cookies?

Cookies are small files which are stored on a user's computer. They are designed to hold a modest amount of data specific to a particular client and website, and can be accessed either by the web server or the client computer. This allows the server to deliver a page tailored to a particular user, or the page itself can contain some script which is aware of the data in the cookie and so is able to carry information from one visit to the website (or related site) to the next.

Our Shopping Cart software by default attaches one cookie called "zenid" to the users computer. This is classed as an "essential cookie" and many aspects of our site will not function correctly without it.

As we use Google Analytics which is a "non-essential cookie", as of 26th May 2011 we are bound by UK & EU Laws to offer the consumer a choice of whether they will accept the cookie or not. Google Analytics is a harmless cookie that allows us to improve our stock and pricing structure.

Google Analytics is used in thousands of Internet Retail stores thoughout the UK so it will become routine that consumers will be asked  to accept cookies whenever they make purchases on-line.

We WILL NOT use information from Google in any abusive way. We WILL NOT contact you with special offers, information or any other media unless you have subscribed to our newsletter.

If you are concerned about cookies being stored on your computer, we advise adjusting your privacy settings to delete all third-party cookies upon closing your browser.

*If you choose to clear your cookies upon closing your browser, you will also clear the remembered answer. The banner will be displayed asking the same question if you visit our site again.

Below is a table showing all cookies that our site stores on your browser.

Note: We have given a maximum duration that a cookie can reside on your computer. You can of course delete all cookies upon exiting your browser.

Identifying Unique Visitors - Created by Google

Deletes automatically after 2 years Each unique browser that visits a page on your site is provided with a unique ID via the __utma cookie. In this way, subsequent visits to your website via the same browser are recorded as belonging to the same (unique) visitor. Thus, if a person interacted with your website using both Firefox and Internet Explorer, the Analytics reports would track this activity under two unique visitors. Similarly if the same browser were used by two different visitors, but with a separate computer account for each, the activity would be recorded under two unique visitor IDs. On the other hand, if the browser happens to be used by two different people sharing the same computer account, one unique visitor ID is recorded, even though two unique individuals accessed the site.
Determining Visitor Session - Created by Google  __utmb Deletes automaically after 2 years The Google Analytics tracking for ga.js uses two cookies to establish a session. If either of these two cookies are absent, further activity by the user initiates the start of a new session.
Determining Visitor Session - Created by Google  __utmc Deletes automatically  at end of session The Google Analytics tracking for ga.js uses two cookies to establish a session. If either of these two cookies are absent, further activity by the user initiates the start of a new session.
Tracking Traffic Sources & Navigatio - Created by Google

Deletes automatically after 6 months When visitors reach your site via a search engine result, a direct link, or an ad that links to your page, Google Analytics stores the type of referral information in a cookie. The parameters in the cookie value string are parsed and sent in the GIF Request (in the utmcc variable). The expiration date for the cookie is set as 6 months into the future. This cookie gets updated with each subsequent page view to your site; thus it is used to determine visitor navigation within your site.
