The push-fit solution for plumbing and heating systems
JG Speedfit is a range of push-fit fittings suitable for the plumbing of hot and cold water services and central heating applications including pressurised and combi Systems.
Speedfit fittings have been designed for use with both plastic and copper pipe in diameters of 10mm 15mm and 22mm and are approved by the Water Research Centre within the requirements of the UK Water Fittings Bylaws Scheme.
British Gas Service has accepted the John Guest Speedfit fittings as being suitable for open vented and sealed central heating systems and as eligible for acceptance onto its service contracts.
Extensive tests have shown that Speedfit fillings will withstand temperatures and pressures well in excess of normal working conditions.
JO Speedfit also supply flexible Speedfit cross-linked polyethylene pipe (tested to DIN 16892 and WRc approved) to offer a complete system of plastic plumbing where this is advantageous.
Speedfit fittings are manufactured to comply with BS7291 Part 1 Class S. As such their performance specifications are well within that required for most central heating and water supply systems including:
- Mains fed and indirect cold water systems
- Vented and unvented hot water systems
- Vented central heating systems
- Sealed central heating systems provided temperatures and pressures comply with BS7291 Part 1 Class S
- Speedfit should not be used for gas fuel oil or compressed air applications.
Installation benefits
- Installation time reduced by at least 40%
- No risk of fire or flames from a blowtorch
- Pipe flexibility permits the cabling of pipe through less accessible areas
- Connections in confined spaces made simpler without the need for tools
Demountable without damage to pipe or fitting
- Less wastage of cut pipe
- A permanent leak-proof joint first time without the need for adjustment
- Lightweight and easy to handle on site
Performance benefits
- Corrosion free
- No scale build up
- Lower thermal diffusivity maintains safer surface temperature
- Pipe elasticity can reduce the possibility of bursting under freezing conditions
- High resistance to impact avoids denting and puncture
- Lead free and non toxic
- Less noise from water flow and expansion/contraction
